WellCAT Well-being Challenge

Ready to challenge yourself to try something new?

The WellCAT Well-being Challenge is your chance to explore resources at K-State, focus on your well-being, and discover what helps you thrive.

During Health and Well-being Month in October, you are challenged to complete three out of the six activities below. From October 1 - October 31, the first 60 students who complete three of the following activities will receive a $50 gift card to the K-State Student Union.

Eligible Activities

PERMAH Assessment

The PERMAH Assessment helps you better understand different areas of your well-being. After you complete the assessment, take time to pause, reflect, and consider the areas of your life that may currently be supporting your well-being, as well as areas where you may want to focus additional attention.

To receive credit for the WellCAT Well-being Challenge, you must:

  • Complete the PERMAH Assessment
  • Upload your personal well-being plan to the form on OrgCentral.

Technogym Assessment

The Technogym Assessment is a personalized assessment that can help you better understand your physical well-being. You will take assessments to gather data on your body composition, mobility, posture, and balance. You will then be able to keep track of your progress within the Technogym app.

To receive credit for the WellCAT Well-being Challenge, you must:

  • Attend ONE open Technogym Assessment event at Chester E. Peters Recreation Complex.
    • October 2 from 2-5pm
    • October 9 from 2-5pm
    • October 23 from 2-5pm
  • Check in at the event by scanning the provided QR code.
  • Scanning the QR code and participating in the event will automatically fulfill this section of the WellCAT Well-being Challenge.

Recreation Services

Physical activity is an important pillar of overall well-being. Recreational Services offer several opportunities for every skill level and interest.

To receive credit for the WellCAT Well-being Challenge, you must:

  • Visit Chester E. Peters Recreation Center 3 times OR participate in an intramural sport.
  • Fill out the form on OrgCentral to submit the activities you completed.

Outdoor Adventures

K-State Recreational Services offer several outdoor adventures for students, including Outdoor Rentals (kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, tents) and the Challenge Course. These experiences allow students to explore new activities, build confidence, and reflect on the benefits of outside recreation.

To receive credit for the WellCAT Well-being Challenge, you must:

  • Rent equipment through Outdoor Rentals OR participate in ONE Challenge Course. You must register on OrgCentral.
    • October 7 from 2-5pm (low elements)
    • October 14 from 2-5pm (high elements)
    • October 22 from 2-5pm (low elements)
  • Check in at the event by scanning the provided QR code.
  • Scanning the QR code and participating in the event will automatically fulfill this section of the WellCAT Well-being Challenge.

Lafene Health Center

Lafene Health Center is K-State students' cost-effective, health and well-being facility. Students visiting Lafene can support their well-being through medical care, preventive services, and health education provided by highly credentialed healthcare professionals.

To receive credit for the WellCAT Well-being Challenge, you must:

  • Make an appointment for a physical through the myLAFENE+ patient portal.
  • Attend your appointment and check in at the front desk by scanning the provided QR code.
  • Scanning the QR code and attending your appointment will automatically fulfill this section of the WellCAT Well-being Challenge.

Mental Health Resources

Mental Health is a key pillar of well-being. K-State offers a variety of resources to support students, including TimelyCare's virtual mental health services and workshops through Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS).

To receive credit for the WellCAT Well-being Challenge, you must:

  • Download/activate TimelyCare and submit a screenshot of your activated account to the form on OrgCentral. OR
  • Register, attend, and check in at one Lock In: Understanding Executive Function workshop.
    • October 7 from 2:30-3:30pm
    • October 14 from 2:30-3:30pm
    • October 21 from 2:30-3:30pm
  • Scanning the QR code and attending the event will automatically fulfill this section of the WellCAT Well-being Challenge.
