Payment Plans
K-State offers two payment plan options to help students manage their finances.
Students can sign up through KSIS and track their required installment payments online. Enrollment is available online from the Student Center within KSIS. Enrollment will open after financial aid disbursement the week before the semester begins, and will close at 3 pm on the third billing date of the fall and spring semesters, October and March, respectively. Tuition Installment Payment Plan (TIPP)
The TIPP program allows students to spread out payments for tuition and other university charges over four months for the Fall and Spring semesters and two months for the Summer term.
Flex Pay
The Flex Pay payment plan allows students to delay the due date of their initial billing statement, pushing it to the second billing cycle of the semester.
1. Select the Financial Account tile in KSIS.

2. Choose Make a Payment at the center of your screen OR at the bottom of the menu on the left side of the screen.

3. Once redirected to our payment partner, TransAct, you can select the Payment Plan button from the center of the screen OR the menu on the right hand side.

4. Next, you'll be shown a payment schedule. The first option shown is the Tuition Installment Payment Plan (TIPP). Choose Enroll in plan if you wish to proceed, or, click the grey arrow next to "Option 1 of 2" to cycle to the Flex Pay plan.

Option 2 shows the Flex Pay payment plan option.

5. Review the proposed payment plan schedule, ensuring you've correctly chosen your desired payment method, and agree to the Terms and Conditions at the bottom of the page.

6. Your last step will be paying the non-refundable $45 payment plan enrollment fee.

You are now enrolled in a payment plan! Future Transact logins will show your balance due, payments made and payments remaining on the home screen.

View our online payment guide for more payment information and options.
1. Designees wanting to access the Tuition Installment Payment plan should enter the Designee Center in KSIS.

2. Once within the Designee Center, choose View Bill/Make a Payment. Once Designees choose to make a payment they will then be redirected to Transact. This process will be the same as outlined for students above (Start with Step 3).

Payment plan enrollment costs $45 to cover administrative expenses for the Fall and Spring semesters and $24 for the Summer term. The enrollment fee is NOT refundable.
If you enroll after the initial payment due date for any semester, your payments will be spread over the remaining months. For example, students who enroll after the January due date in spring would see their payments spread over 3 months. Students who enroll after the February due date would see their payments spread over 2 months and so on.
Note: If the 15th day of the month falls on a weekend or holiday, bills will be generated on the next business day. Accurate due dates will always be listed on your eBill.

Tuition Installment Payment Plan (TIPP) and Flex Pay Plan Agreement Terms & Conditions
The terms listed below apply to all sections of the Installment Payment Plan (IPP) and the Flex Pay Plan.
By enrolling in a Kansas State University (KSU) payment plan, I agree to the following terms and conditions:
- Student Eligibility:
- Must be enrolled in the current/upcoming semester at KSU.
- Must be current on charges owed to KSU.
- Must have no holds on your student account from previous collection activities.
- Enrollment & Plan Options:
- Online enrollment for a KSU payment plan must be done in accordance with the KSU payment plan schedule. If you are ineligible to participate, the system will not allow you to enroll.
- The enrollment fee is due at the time of enrollment. Enrollment fees are non-refundable and required for each plan separately. Fees vary by semester and plan type as outlined below:
- Standard IPP: $45 for Fall and Spring semesters each; $24 for Summer semester.
- Flex Pay Plan: $45 for Fall and Spring semesters each; $24 for Summer semester.
- Enrollment in any plan is not automatic for subsequent semesters. A new agreement is needed each semester a student wants to use a plan.
- Plan Types and Structure:
- Standard Installment Payment Plan (IPP):
- Your K-State Student Information System (KSIS) student account is the system of record for all transactions (tuition, fees, payments, financial aid, meal plans, housing, etc.).
- Your IPP is distributed evenly over three to four (3-4) monthly installments for both Fall and Spring semesters—plan length is predetermined and dependent on enrollment date—and two (2) monthly installments for Summer semester.
- Flex Pay Plan (Delay-to-Second-Cycle):
- This plan delays payment for standard tuition and fees until the second billing cycle of the semester, with no standard tuition and fee payments required during the first month (other than the non-refundable enrollment fee due at sign-up).
- The entire remaining balance will be due during the second billing cycle, unless the student chooses to enroll in the Standard IPP at that time to split the remaining balance into the remaining monthly payments (up to 3 monthly payments).
- A separate enrollment fee will be required if transitioning from the Deferred Payment Plan into the Standard IPP.
- Standard Installment Payment Plan (IPP):
- Financial Aid & Adjustments:
- Anticipated financial aid identified in your KSIS account reduces the account balance prior to enrolling in the plan.
- If additional charges are incurred after initial enrollment, consolidation action will need to be taken by the student to recalculate the plan amount and remaining payments. Otherwise, additional charges will be due according to the normal billing cycle and late fees will apply.
- Financial aid or scholarships disbursed after enrollment will decrease payment amounts. The plan amount will recalculate for remaining unbilled payments. If financial aid is reduced, consolidation action is necessary to increase the plan amount, or uncovered charges will follow normal billing cycles.
- Delinquent Accounts:
- Failure to pay the installment or deferred amount due may result in an administrative hold placed on your student record that may prevent future registration at KSU.
- Failure to submit the full payment by the stated due date and time will result in immediate disenrollment from the payment plan. Disenrollment will occur as soon as the payment deadline has passed and a 1.5% default charge will apply to the total unpaid balance. Students removed from the plan may also be ineligible to participate in KSU payment plans in the future.
- Upon cancellation of your payment plan, any balance on your student account will be due according to KSU monthly billing due dates and will be payable immediately.
- A default charge of 1.5% will be assessed on any past due balance associated with the current term still remaining on the account at the end of the payment plan term.
- Fees and Other Charges:
- Enrollment fees are strictly non-refundable and required for each semester and plan option separately.
- Payments returned from the bank for any reason in conjunction with the plan will result in the assessment of a $30 returned item fee and may result in removal from the plan.
- A default charge of 1.5% will be assessed on any past due balance associated with the current term still remaining on the account at the end of the plan term.
- A non-refundable service fee is assessed for all credit and debit card transactions.
- Automated Direct Payment Option:
- Payments may be deducted from your checking or savings account by e-check, debit, or credit card. A non-refundable service fee is assessed for all credit and debit card transactions.
- Payments will be withdrawn from your account on the scheduled due date and will be payable to KSU. A record of each payment will be posted to the student’s account.
- Declined and Dishonored Payments: It is the responsibility of the guarantor to ensure adequate funds are available on the due date. In the event a payment is declined or dishonored, KSU reserves the right to cancel the payment plan. Upon cancellation, the balance becomes due immediately, and the account will be assessed an additional returned item fee of $30.00.
- KSU is not liable for any returned payments due to incorrect bank account information supplied, nor for any charges your bank imposes resulting from an overdraft position, minimum balance violations, or electronic withdrawal limits.
- Termination of Payment Plan:
- Participation in a KSU payment plan is entirely voluntary. At any time prior to the date that your final payment is due, you may terminate your plan without explanation. However, doing so may leave a remaining balance on your student account which will be due immediately.
- Enrollment fees are non-refundable.
- Rights to KSU under Default or Ineligibility:
- KSU reserves the right to terminate the payment plan in the event of default or ineligibility. Upon termination, any balance on the student account will be payable according to KSU monthly billing due dates and will be payable immediately.
Authorization & Financial Responsibility Acknowledgment
I have read the Terms and Conditions of this agreement and I authorize KSU and their respective agents to contact me regarding my student account and any other financial obligation to KSU at the current or any future number that I provide for my cellular or other wireless device using automated telephone dialing equipment, artificial, or pre-recorded voice or text messages.
As a student enrolled in classes at KSU, I agree to assume full financial responsibility for all charges incurred on my student account whether I attend the classes or not. I further understand that my failure to be fiscally responsible may result in service holds, late fees, collection actions by KSU, the Attorney General’s Office or other third-party agency, unfavorable credit bureau filing and/or litigation and I will assume all costs associated with such actions.
