Term Instructor

The Department of English invites applications for term (nontenure track) Instructors to teach expository writing either full-time or part-time for the Fall 2025 semester, with possible continuation into the Spring 2026 semester. Term instructors teach a minimum of two 3-credit hours courses and up to four 3-credit hour course sections per semester.

Minimum Qualifications:

• M.A. in English or related field.
• At least two years of experience teaching at the college or university level.
• Experience teaching introductory classes in writing at the college or university level.
• Excellence in teaching writing, as demonstrated by successful course and lesson design, classroom delivery of course material, and assessment of student writing.
• Attention to a range of experiences and student learning styles through pedagogy and course content.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Expertise in teaching first-year students.
