Recognize outstanding faculty – Nominations open for Commerce Bank Distinguished Graduate Faculty AwardNomination Deadline: May 16 Graduate Student SuccessCongratulations to Three Minute Thesis WinnersManjot Kaur Rekhi, master’s student in agronomy, is K-State’s 2021 Three Minute Thesis (3MT) winner! Rekhi will represent K-State in the Midwestern Association of Graduate School’s 3MT competition at the end of March. Lara Dsouza, PhD student in biology, was selected as the second-place winner, and Priyasha Fernando, master’s student in civil engineering was voted by the audience as the People’s Choice award winner. Facilitate Timely Degree ProgressTo ensure a smooth route to graduation, please work with your students to submit a program of study by completion of 9 graduate hours. Having a program of study on file early in their graduate career makes degree expectations clear for the student and supervisory committee. This also makes processing more efficient for Graduate School degree analysts when the student has several forms and documents to submit for graduation. Share graduate assistantship opportunities with incoming and current studentsSeveral student support units are accepting applications for graduate assistantships for appointments beginning in fall 2021. Students from all disciplines are welcome to apply. Application deadline: March 5 at noon
Encourage students to apply for K-State ScholarshipsScholarship opportunities are available for incoming and continuing K-State students. Graduate students are eligible for some of these funding opportunities. All scholarship awards in the KSN are made for the fall semester. Please encourage students in your program to complete the KSN application by March 15.
2021 Graduate Student Council Executive Officer ElectionsApplications are being accepted for the following executive officer positions. Terms for these positions begin in May 2021. Application deadline is March 26, 2021.
