Ph.D. program
The Ph.D. program in economics provides rigorous training in economic theory and applications. Students are prepared to conduct original research and work as professional economists in academia, government or business.
Aside from excellent training in microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics, students can choose from a variety of related fields such as development economics, international economics, industrial organization, labor economics, monetary economics, public finance and transportation economics.
Recent graduates have taken academic positions at the University of Wisconsin-Steven's Point, Newman University, Georgia Southern University, Yale Economic Growth Center (post doctorate position) as well as many other universities and colleges. Others have taken government jobs with such institutions as the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Texas Labor Force Commission and Kansas Corporation Commission. Business placements include top corporations in the telecommunications industry.

Then you can mail in hard copies of the following documents directly to our department: official academic transcripts (college and beyond), three letters of recommendation, a statement of objectives, a TOEFL/IELTS report (international application only), and a completed copy of the affidavit of financial support (international application only). In addition, while not required, the general Graduate Record Examination is very helpful in evaluating an application and submission of this exam's results is strongly encouraged.
