Cayuse Outside Interests

What is the Cayuse Outside Interests System:

Cayuse Outside Interests (Cayuse OI) is K-State's online disclosure system that allows faculty, unclassified staff, research, and University administrators to disclose financial interests and outside activities in accordance with U.S. Federal regulations, Kansas Board of Regents Policies on Conflict of Interest and Commitment, and University Policies on conflict of interest and time including University Handbook, Appendix S (Conflict of Interest and Conflict of Time Commitment Policy) and University Handbook, Section D40 (Consulting Policy). Cayuse OI also supports prior approval submissions for consulting and other employment activities. K-State support engagement in outside activities that align with the University's mission. However, disclosure is important in facilitating the identification and management of any conflicts of interests and/or time.

How to Submit a Disclosure:

Submitting an Annual Disclosure, an update for a new activity, and a consulting prior approval request all follow the same following instructions:

Log in to Cayuse OI
Select the blue "Add Disclosure" button
Choose "Start a New Annual Disclosure"
- Even if you are a researcher, you should always choose the Annual Disclosure option unless specifically instructed by the COI Program to complete a Research-Based Disclosure
Navigate through the form using the left menu. Any section with a red exclamation point requires an answer before you are able to submit the form.
After completing all sections, be sure to select the "Submit" button in the top right corner of the form to submit your disclosure for review.

Log in to Cayuse OI:

All K-State users must be set-up with single sign on before logging into Cayuse OI for the first time. Use your K-State eID and password to log in.
