Summer Camps

K-State Bands host a variety of fun and educational summer camps for middle and high school students. These camps are a great way to improve your musical skills, meet new friends, and experience life on the K-State campus.

Campers take part in full band rehearsals, sectionals, and special sessions on topics like leadership and performance. Our camps are led by K-State faculty, staff, and guest instructors who are passionate about music and teaching.

Summer Music Camp

In addition to their rehearsal and classroom experiences, campers were provided with ample social and recreational activities, including recreation time at the KSU Student Union, a Picnic Dinner at the Manhattan City Park followed by a concert performance with the Manhattan Municipal Band, and a student talent-show.

Leadership and Auxiliary Camp

The four-day summer program is tailored for high school drum majors, section leaders, percussionists, color guard members, and dance team participants. Participants receive hands-on instruction in conducting, leadership, guard techniques, and percussion while fostering teamwork and cooperation. Hosted at the KSU campus, the program attracts students from Kansas and beyond. The goal is to equip each student with the skills and confidence to lead within their band programs.
