Call Hall Dairy Plant Archive Virtual Tour

Call Hall Dairy Plant Archive Virtual Tour

July 1, 2025

As the College of Agriculture looks forward to future of renovations to Weber and Call Hall, the new Bilbrey Family Event Center and the new Global Center for Grain and Food Innovation, remembering the rich history and personal experiences with these facilities is important. Before renovation began on parts of Call Hall, a virtual tour was captured of the existing dairy plant as part of a research grant project.

With the USDA Higher Education Challenge Grant, iVisit: Interactive Virtual Tours For Advancing Food And Agricultural Sciences (FAS) aims to bridge the gap between the need for immersive, interactive experiences in FAS and the lack of field trips that can be taken to fulfill this need. By using 3D spatial scanning technology, the team members of the iVisit project have created interactive virtual tours (IVTs) as well as supplemental learning materials that can be implemented in the classroom for a unique look into FAS facilities. Several of the team members were from K-State including:

  • Gaea Hock, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Agricultural Education at Kansas State University
  • Sara Gragg, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Food Science at Kansas State University Olathe
  • Frances Churchill is the North American Milling Instructor of Milling Science and Management in the Department of Grain Science and Industry at Kansas State University

You can explore the virtual walkthrough of the existing dairy plant facility in Call Hall using the link below or visit additional facilities by exploring the iVisit Project website too.
