Step-by-step guide for incoming freshman
Apply for admission
Our online application takes about 30 minutes to complete.
Submitting your application for admission will also trigger an automatic review of your eligibility for general university scholarships/awards.
Admission and scholarship priority date: March 15
Kansas State University is also a member of Common App. If you prefer, sign in to Common App and add Kansas State University to My Colleges.
Submit ACT/SAT scores
K-State is test optional, which means admission can be granted using other academic information. However, most university scholarships and awards for freshmen require an ACT or SAT. You can submit your test scores through April 30 of your senior year.
Review advanced standing credit
If you have advanced credit from Advanced Placement (AP), College Level Examination Program (CLEP), DANTES Subject Standardized Test (DSST), International Baccalaureate (IB), or military credit evaluation, see how scores or credit transfer.
Scholarships
K-State offers a number of scholarships for incoming freshmen. Submitting your application for admission will trigger an automatic review of your eligibility for general university scholarships and awards. Apply by the March 15 priority date for full scholarship consideration. Additionally, there are even more scholarship/award opportunities beyond general university awards, so make sure to check them all out.
Financial aid
Student financial assistance has many resources to give you confidence as you complete the FAFSA. The FAFSA is available Oct. 1. Our priority FAFSA deadline is Dec. 1.
