Use this chart to determine the best place to send your informational update for advisors.

First, determine if the information is relevant to all K-State students.
If the answer is NO... If the answer is Yes...
Submit a communication request for the advisor forum canvas page. Move on to the next step below!
Next, determine if your email contains information about the following:

A

Targeted Content

Does the email contain information about:

  • A course offering or study abroad opportunity?
  • A college, club or departmental event?
  • A job posting for students or advisors?
If yes, STOP and submit a communication request for the advisor forum canvas page.

B

University-wide Content

Does the email contain information about:

  • Advisor training and development opportunities?
  • University-wide events, policy changes, or updates?
If yes, send the email in the advisor forum listserv.

Should I click the "reply" button on an advisor forum email?

NO, DON'T DO IT! Create a new email and respond directly to the person you have a question/comment for.
