As a state university in Kansas, Kansas State University’s president reports to the Kansas Board of Regents, the governing board of the state’s six universities and the statewide coordinating board for the 32 public higher education institutions in Kansas. The board’s nine members are appointed to four-year terms of service by the Governor of Kansas.
