Welcome to CAPS!
As the primary mental health resource for K-State students, CAPS provides a confidential, safe space to process anything that weighs on your mind. Whether you have a personal struggle that you want to work through, a relationship you’d like to improve, a societal issue that is causing you concern, or some other topic on your mind, our dedicated staff are here to listen and help you process anything that is having a psychological impact on you. Our services are open and available to all enrolled K-State students who have paid the student services fee included in their tuition bill.
CAPS provides consultations, workshops, group and individual therapy, as well as referral information for K-State campus partners and the Manhattan community.
Important Details:
- Our services are for eligible students.
- Our therapists are licensed in Kansas and only able to provide services to students who are in Kansas at the time of the services. Out of state students can find information about finding a therapist here.
Initial consultation
You can schedule an initial consultation within 48 hours of appointment time through the myLAFENE+ portal. If you cannot find an appointment that works for you through the portal, please call 785-532-6927, and we'll get you scheduled. You can also walk in to schedule an appointment. If you are in crisis, please come into CAPS and let our front desk know that you are in urgent need of speaking to a counselor.
