The Office of Information Security and Compliance strives to keep information in the hands of administrators and K-State users by offering training so they can keep up with constantly changing dangers of the internet. You can find information on upcoming trainings and past trainings here.
Training posted in this section is open to the K-State community and will focus on IT security topics that impact the campus.
The K-State Security Incident Response Team (SIRT), presents a monthly round table series
that is open to all K-Staters. Some of our past topics have included malware trends, firewall configurations, travel tips, and upcoming IT
policy changes. Future topics are generally decided a few weeks before the discussion, but we're always willing to take suggestions.
If you have an idea for a topic, please let us know by emailing
In addition to the Round Table events, the IT Security Team and the SIRT offer Security Training events. These events are open to all K-Staters and to IT Professionals at the Kansas Regents institution.
The last IT Security Training event was
Wednesday, April 13th, 2011 in the K-State Student Union.
