Workshops for Facilitators

The influence of facilitation on the conduct and outcome of public forums is so significant that training, practice and assessment for facilitators is a priority of ICDD. 

The institute offers annual workshops in forum facilitation and targeted training events as requested by community organizations and associations. In 2016, we provided the following workshops:

Foundations of Public Forum Facilitation for: TALK Salina at: Salina, Kansas

Model Processes and Principles of Public Facilitation for: Young African Leaders Initiative at: Manhattan, Kansas 

Practicing Facilitation - Skills and Model Processes for: Johnson County Public Library at: Overland Park, Kansas

Board Leadership Training

ICDD supports development of leadership skills by civic volunteer boards, whose work advances democratic engagement across the state.  K-State Research and Extension offers the following workshops focused on citizen boards and commissions:
