English Instructor Position

Internal Search for K-State Employees
Full-time instructor position to teach writing and to work with other Expository Writing Program faculty members to train and advise graduate teaching assistants. M.A. with at least two years of teaching experience in Expository Writing required. Also required is familiarity with the Kansas State Expository Writing Program and its curriculum for ENGL 100 "Writing Communities and Identities," a curriculum that connects the examination of diversity in the United States with the rhetorical concerns of writing for difference audiences and purposes. Ability to teach introductory literature courses and upper-level writing courses desirable. Required start date is August 10, 2008, but ability to work during July for a summer stipend desirable.

Visiting Assistant Professor, Creative Writing
The Department of English at Kansas State University invites applications for a visiting assistant professor serving as a one-year replacement in fiction writing beginning August 10, 2008. Teaching load is 3-3, including introductory and advanced fiction writing, and possible graduate teaching. Successful candidates will have a M.F.A. or Ph.D. in Creative Writing, a strong publication record, and evidence of excellence in the classroom. Service opportunities may include, depending on background, advising the department's student literary journal, serving on M.A. committees, and active participation in program-sponsored events.
