Using Canvas for Assessment

Canvas is not just a platform for teaching — it is also a powerful tool for gathering meaningful assessment data. By connecting Outcomes, Rubrics, and Assignments, faculty can efficiently capture evidence of student learning directly from course activities. This integrated approach supports reflection, continuous improvement, and our shared commitment to student success.

Curricular Programs

Curricular programs, encompassing both undergraduate and graduate studies, engage in an annual assessment of student learning outcomes. Reporting is due October 15, where each program submits findings in a structured format for review and reflection, supporting program growth and development.

Co-Curricular Programs

Co-curricular programs at Kansas State University focus on evaluating student engagement and learning beyond the classroom, covering areas like the Division of Academic Success and Student Affairs. These programs are required to submit Annual Progress Reports each February, assessing all or a portion of their outcomes and using the results to enhance the overall student experience and support personal and professional development.
