Information on Survey Administration, Sample, and Response Rate

  • The Senior Survey is designed to give undergraduate students the opportunity to reflect upon their K-State experiences. This information is used to improve the college experience for future students by identifying strengths in our programs as well as areas that need further development.  The survey includes issues relating to satisfaction with K-State regarding academic programs, intellectual and personal growth, student services, and preparation for a career or a graduate/professional school.
  • The survey is offered electronically (through AXIO Survey) to seniors who have been cleared for graduation by their respective colleges.
  • During the 2010 - 2011 academic year, the Office of Assessment offered the Senior Survey to 3,029 graduating seniors, in which 1,934 seniors took part in the survey. The university response rate for fall graduates was 61% (613 out of 1,002 participated in the survey), and 65% (1,321 out of 2,027 participated in the survey) for spring, for an overall response rate of 64%.
  • For comparison, during the 2009 - 2010 academic year, the Office of Assessment offered the Senior Survey to 3,191 graduating seniors, in which 2,076 seniors took part in the survey. The university response rate for fall graduates was 56% (714 out of 1,270 participated in the survey), and 71% (1,362 out of 1,921 participated in the survey) for spring, for an overall response rate of 65%.
