Prairie Dropseed, Sporobolus Heterolepsis

Example of Sporobolus Heterolepsis

Full Sun, Native, Warm-season

Prairie Dropseed is a great compact grass that sends up an airy and open inflorescence in the summer. As a native grass it has a deep root system that enables it to tolerate dry conditions once established.

It had a very solid second year in the trial and the stand has filled in nicely (despite the invasion of nut sedge).
