Moor Grass, Molinia Arundinacea ‘Skyracer’

Example of Skyracer

Full Sun, Cool-season

This grass takes several seasons to reach full height. It has very tall, arching flower stalks and turns golden yellow in the fall. It can grow in moist soils and has a clumping growth habit.

Many more blooms were observed in the second year. It started flowering in June and maintained its form all season! It’s a very unique grass because its flower stalks are so much higher than the foliage. This grass rounded out the Top 10 visitor favorite list in 2008, and would be ideal to plant where the blooms can be seen swaying in the wind.
