Palm Sedge, Carex Muskingumensis

Example of Palm Sedge

Full sun to part sun, Cool-season

This sedge has narrow green leaves and a spiky form. Appears to have a pretty rapid growth habit and could work well as a groundcover plant. It did not seem to be fazed by the summer heat.

The second season for this sedge was another productive one. It filled in its area, but is not particularly aggressive (yet?). It put on many blooms in the spring.
