Bowles Golden Sedge, Carex elata 'Bowles Golden'

Example of Bowles Golden Sedge

Full sun to part sun, Cool-season

This sedge has amazing bright yellow leaves. It is reported to like moist soil conditions, but also tolerates dry soils. The leaf ends got burned when transplanted to the trial grounds in the summer, so it will be interesting to see how it comes back in 2008.

The spring growth looked great on these plants – very vibrant color. Unfortunately the summer heat ruined these plants and they looked pretty horrible late in the season.
