The Academic Achievement Center announces Sabrina Veith as the Spring 2024 Kim Dierks Tutor of Distinction scholarship recipient.

Veith, senior in biology, started as a peer tutor for the Academic Achievement Center in spring 2023. Since then, Sabrina has tutored many K-State students in biology as both a drop-in and appointment tutor.

"My favorite part of tutoring is getting to make connections with students whose shoes I have been in," said Sabrina. "I love getting to share different methods of learning, context for what they're learning, and why it will be important in their future."

Kim Dierks, previous managing director of Tutoring Services, was an integral part of the Academic Achievement Center for more than 14 years. She dedicated her work to creating a place where all students are welcome and developed fantastic teams of student leaders. She provided students with opportunities for leadership, growth and achievement. Dierks continues to demonstrate her commitment to student success by honoring the work of student tutors through the generous gift made to fund the Kimberly Dierks Scholarship for Tutors of Distinction.

The Academic Achievement Center provides staple services of academic coaching, success tools and tutoring for all K-State students as part of their free Academic Support Package. For more information about the center's services and how to partner with us, please visit k-state.edu/aac/.
