Kansas State University — through collaboration with K-State Innovation Partners, Manhattan Brewing Company, IGP Institute and K-State faculty — is offering a Brewing and Fermentation Science short course Jan. 8-10, 2024. Students interested in learning the science behind the world's most widely consumed fermented beverage should enroll in this short course.

The Brewing and Fermentation Short course is a hands-on, three-day course where students can learn about the brewing process, including malt, hops, fermentation, packaging, safety, tasting technique, beer styles, common off-flavors and much more. Students will learn from industry professionals at Manhattan Brewing Company, faculty from Kansas State University and other experts in the industry.

This course will include an introduction to the brewing process, demonstrations of how scientific concepts apply to brewing practices and application of sensory analysis techniques.

The course will be held Jan. 8-10, 2024, at Manhattan Brewing Company's Taproom and Brewery.

To enroll, search for GRSC790 Grain Science Problems in KSIS for the spring 2024 term, and follow the instructions listed under the course. For more information, please visit IGP Institute's page. Just 10 of the 20 seats are available for K-State students, so don't delay. You must be 21 or older to enroll.
