Education Abroad staff updates

Submitted by Katelin Christianer-Donkers

Education Abroad introduces its new advising staff: Amanda Mack, Sarah Hassle and Sydney Fetkenhauer.

Mack comes to K-State from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where she previously worked as a global experiences coordinator in their Study Abroad Office. Mack completed her Master of Education at Arizona State University and has participated in multiple study abroad experiences, traveling to the U.K., Netherlands, Germany and Spain for various amounts of time. Mack joined the office in early January 2023 and works specifically with the College of Architecture, Planning & Design, the College of Engineering and the K-State Salina Campus. Mack also acts as the office's incoming exchange student coordinator and assists with campus visits from K-State's partner institutions.

Hassle joins K-State from a K-12 background, teaching both internationally and domestically. During her undergraduate degree, Hassle spent a year in China and has a master's degree in education from the University of Michigan. Hassle has been in the office since July 2022 and works specifically with the College of Business Administration, the College of Health and Human Sciences and the College of Education. Hassle also acts as the scholarship coordinator and oversees the peer advisor supervision in the office.

Fetkenhauer comes to K-State as a recent graduate with her undergraduate degree in political science, international studies and Spanish from St. Norbert College in De Pere, Wisconsin, where she worked as a student assistant in the Study Abroad Office. Fetkenhauer spent a semester studying abroad in Toledo, Spain, and attended a conference in Athens, Greece, helping present a research project she assisted. Fetkenhauer started in the office in early January 2023 and works specifically with the College of Arts and Sciences, the College of Agriculture and the College of Veterinary Medicine. Fetkenhauer also acts as the office outreach coordinator and event planner.
