Meet the mental health professional

Submitted by Kristen Kremer

The social work program will host Beth Akins from Horizons Mental Health Center on campus from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8, in 252 Waters Hall to meet with students.

Any student interested in learning more about a career in mental health services is welcome to stop by and talk with Akins.

Akins is a licensed specialist clinical social worker and a licensed clinical addictions counselor. She spent the first 25 years of her career at Horizons as department head of community support services, working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness, she now provides behavioral health consultations at the Hutchinson clinic.
