Parking Services to begin testing license plate recognition

Submitted by Jeff Barnes

Starting Sept. 6, Parking Services will begin testing the new license plate recognition software ahead of the full implementation in fall 2023. Vehicles parking on campus must pull forward into the stall with their license plate facing the drive lane at this time.

Individuals preferring to back into university parking stalls may purchase a front license plate from the Parking Services office for $6 each. Parking Services-issued plates mounted to the front of the vehicle will enable vehicles to back into or pull through stalls in the parking lots while remaining compliant.

The front plates are not available online. Visit the Parking Services Office at the south end of the K-State Parking Garage, 706 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive.
