Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative course fee deadline Sept. 2

Submitted by Cailin Riley

Friday, Sept. 2, is the deadline to claim the Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative course fee for the spring 2023 semester.

If you are an Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative grant recipient using OER or were approved for the course fee and intend to claim the course fee for the spring 2023 semester, please submit your course data online by Sept. 2. To claim the course fee for the summer/fall 2023 semesters, course data is due by Feb. 3, 2023, and should be submitted using the online form.

Please note that if you are unable to submit your data by the deadline, you will not be able to use the fee that semester.

The Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative has saved K-State students an estimated $10,950,750 since fall 2016. If you are interested in applying for an Open/Alternative Textbook Initiative grant to create or adapt OER for your course, proposal review deadlines are Dec. 2, 2022, and April 14, 2023. You can learn more about the initiative and apply for a grant by visiting the website.
