Student Senate weekly update

Submitted by Blake Phillips

Good morning, Wildcats!

Student Senate met for the final time in the fall semester on Thursday, Dec. 2. President Myers delivered an open period speech, reflecting on his time at K-State and his relationship with the Student Governing Association. Senators voted to approve a commendation to President Myers for his service to K-State and the U.S. Senators also approved a commendation to the physician assistant program faculty and staff.

After commendations, the senate approved a new student senator, the elections committee, and Cathleen Cowell as the 2022-2023 K-State SGA attorney general. Travel allocations to Bridges International, George Wright Society Tallgrass chapter, National Society of Black Engineers and Pre-Dental Club were also approved. Finally, Student Services Fee budget adjustments were approved for Wildcat 91.9 radio station and a travel allocation to the Institute of Industrial and Systems Engineers was introduced to the body.

The senate will reconvene during the spring semester at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 27, 2022, in the Wildcat Chamber at the K-State Student Union. All are welcome to attend in person or can watch live on YouTube at the K-State SGA YouTube channel.
