Learn about the Fulbright U.S. Student Grant

Submitted by Kali Poenitske

Register for a virtual Fulbright U.S. Student Grant Information Session hosted by the Institute of International Education on Nov. 15.

The Institute of International Education will share information on the Fulbright U.S. Student Grant at 1 p.m. CST on Monday, Nov. 15. In recognition of International Education Week, institute staff and Fulbright alumni ambassadors will present information to students at multiple universities regarding the Fulbright experience. After the general presentation, students will have an opportunity to learn more about campus resources, deadlines and next steps in a short breakout session with Jim Hohenbary, the Fulbright program adviser for Kansas State University.

The Fulbright U.S. Student Grant fully funds an academic year of international experience for U.S. citizens and is open to graduating seniors, recent alumni and graduate students. With more than 1,900 awards available, the Fulbright is a terrific opportunity to study, conduct research or work as an English teaching assistant in one of more than 140 different countries.

Students will need to register for this group information session.

This will be a great opportunity to begin thinking about the Fulbright well in advance of the next application deadline. Both undergraduate and graduate students who might have a future interest in pursuing an academic year abroad are encouraged to attend, even if they do not necessarily plan to apply in fall 2022.

Interested students who are unable to attend the session are encouraged to contact Jim Hohenbary, director of nationally competitive scholarships, at jimlth@k-state.edu for more information.
