Attend the April 23 Wildcat Walk: To End Sexual Violence

Submitted by Sara Haggard

Join us to hear from survivors and experts alike!

To commemorate Sexual Assault Awareness Month, attend the Wildcat Walk: To End Sexual Violence from 4-5 p.m. Friday, April 23. It will begin in City Park and end in Bosco Student Plaza — a milelong walk that signifies the distance between campus and the Office of Institutional Equity, where survivors may choose to go to report their assault.

We will join FIRE — Feminists Igniting Resistance and Empowerment — in the Plaza, where they will host the final day of tabling for their Taking Back Our Lives event. Following the walk, there will be speakers every 15 minutes to talk about their experience or expertise — including resources — regarding sexual violence at K-State, beginning with opening statements by Vice President Thomas Lane and our newly appointed Title IX coordinator Stephanie Lott.

Those participating in the walk will get a free "I ♥ Consent" T-shirt from the Center for Advocacy, Response and Education, or CARE, office, and it is sure to be an incredible and empowering experience for everyone.
