Course Design Institute offered this summer to assist those teaching or developing online courses
As part of their commitment to support faculty who currently teach or are interested in teaching in online and blended course modalities, Global Campus, Polytechnic Campus and the Teaching and Learning Center are offering a Course Design Institute from June 1-July 2.
The institute will provide a five-week course-preparation experience designed to assist in developing quality courses. The experience is for K-State faculty members and graduate students who are currently teaching or plan to develop an online or blended course in the next year.
This institute provides the opportunity to experience the learner's perspective and will be offered completely online. Synchronous sessions will be offered through Zoom and other course components will be provided asynchronously.
Participants in the institute will design a new course or redesign an existing course. The course covers best practices for teaching online while offering practical applications. Through the course, participants will gain higher confidence in the ability to teach online and learn meaningful instructor-to-student and student-to-student interaction techniques. Participants who complete all requirements will earn a certificate of completion.
The Course Design Institute is provided at no cost, but limited seats are available. Faculty interested in the institute can register online.
