Kansas Board of Regents March meeting agenda items
Submitted by Communications and Marketing
The Kansas Board of Regents will meet March 17 and 18 at the Curtis State Office Building in Topeka. A livestream will be available for individuals to listen remotely.
The Regents will consider the following agenda items related to Kansas State University during the meeting.
Kansas State University requests approval to raze two buildings as part of the North Campus Corridor Master Plan. Two storage sheds located on the agronomy farm north of Kimball Avenue will be razed to allow for a new access road to be constructed. The university intends to replace the existing storage sheds with a single new building. The cost to raze the buildings, the replacement value of the existing buildings and the new access road will be funded from the city of Manhattan's road improvement project.
The Regents will consider a request by K-State and the University of Kansas to extend the suspension of a portion of the board policy related to the payment of tuition and fees so students experiencing financial difficulties related to the COVID-19 pandemic may continue their studies. The continued policy suspension would allow students to enroll in summer and fall 2021 semesters despite having outstanding financial balances.
On Thursday, March 18, the Regents will discuss the facility renewal initiative and the framework for advancing the deferred maintenance initiative.
