Annual K-State Gardens poinsettia sale — 2020 style

Submitted by Sue White

variety of poinsettias

In an effort to keep everyone well and safe, the Kansas State University Gardens' annual poinsettia, amaryllis and centerpiece sale will be through an online storefront that will be live today, Tuesday, Nov. 3. We will definitely miss visiting and assisting customers in selecting their plants, but everyone's health is more important.

Plant color choices are red, white and pink. Centerpieces are 12-15 inches tall in various colors. Photos will be on the storefront. Plants can be picked up by appointment or delivered for a fee. Payment will be by debit or credit card only.

The plants are produced by students in K-State University's Greenhouse Operations Management class, which allows students to make production decisions, including light and temperature manipulation, nutrient needs and greenhouse environment management. The plants are grown in the Throckmorton Plant Sciences greenhouse complex.

Profits from the sale will benefit The Gardens and help defray expenses for student labor, plantings and necessary materials.
