Kansas State University continues to provide updates in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The following is a summary of announcements from Sept. 28-Oct. 2.

Updates continue to be posted on the COVID-19 website, which includes guidance and frequently asked questions about the return to university campuses. Content that has been added this week includes guidance and FAQ related to voluntary asymptomatic testing, as well as further guidance on academic instruction and temporary moves to online learning.
K-State expands testing to offer voluntary asymptomatic testing for students.
On Monday, Oct. 5, K-State will begin offering no-charge voluntary asymptomatic testing for students at Lafene Health Center. Students who participate will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a variety of prizes.
The university continues to track and evaluate COVID-19 data in our community.
Every week, K-State is updating the online dashboard that tracks COVID-19 data in university-connected communities.
The Riley County Health Department has identified new COVID-19 outbreaks and reported new cases.
As of Sept. 30, the Riley County Health Department has reported 267 total active cases and 1,582 recovered cases in Riley County. The department also has identified outbreaks associated with Greek houses and a scholarship house.
A reminder of why face coverings work.
As flu season approaches during the COVID-19 pandemic, health officials are reminding Americans that face coverings are critical to slowing the spread and contraction of both respiratory diseases.
Virtual counseling sessions are available to faculty and staff.
K-State understands that this year has brought many challenges surrounding COVID-19. Human Capital Services has partnered with the State of Kansas Employee Assistance Program to have virtual counselor sessions for faculty and staff on Oct. 8.
K-State recognizes custodial workers during Custodial Worker Appreciation Week.
The university will recognize and honor custodial staff for their work during the COVID-19 pandemic with the first K-State Custodial Workers Appreciation Week, which kicks off Friday, Oct. 2.
