Inspire middle school students to interact with STEM

Submitted by Denise Chavez

The K-State Office for the Advancement of Women in Science and Engineering, or KAWSE, will host its popular GROW Workshop online this semester.

Volunteers are needed to design and facilitate a hands-on, engaging session to share with middle school students. These sessions should highlight a variety of STEM fields and include components that encourage participation. For example, recording a lab tour, demonstrating an experiment, or showing your research would be good sessions. Most sessions will be prerecorded, with a submission deadline of Oct. 14. We will also host two "Meet the Facilitator" live sessions. While this live session is optional to attend, it is a chance for middle school students to ask their own questions.

To indicate your interest in facilitating a session, please complete the Qualtrics form. Proposals are due Oct. 2.

More information about this volunteer opportunity is available on the KAWSE webpage.
