Amateur Radio Club wins second place in collegiate contest

The Amateur Radio Club at K-State, a registered independent student organization, placed second in the American Radio Relay League's Collegiate Amateur Radio Initiative Collegiate QSO Party. The plaque winners from the 2018 and 2019 rounds of the were announced Dec. 13, 2019. 

The contest, first hosted in September 2018, was intended as a way to promote student activity, alumni engagement and community awareness early in the fall semester.

During the contest, individuals exchange call signs, university name, and operating class with other operators to earn points.

The 2020 event is set for mid-September and is open to all ham radio amateurs and clubs.
