Geographers present at regional conference

Faculty and graduate students from the geography and geospatial sciences department participated in the annual 2019 meeting of the Great Plains-Rocky Mountain Division of the American Association of Geographers, Oct. 11-12, in Lawrence.

The following faculty and students made presentations at the meeting:

Audrey Joslin, assistant professor, presented "The Conservation Reserve Program and Wildfires: Rancher Perceptions and Shifting Land Management in Southern Kansas."

Rebecca Lima Albuquerque Maranhao, graduate student, presented "Water Storage Variation in the Lake Sobradinho."

Michael Molloy, graduate student, and Audrey Joslin, assistant professor, presented "Adaptation to Coastal Environmental Change in Louisiana: An Analysis of Local and State Environmental Governance Relationships."

Katherine Nelson, assistant professor, and Michael Molloy, graduate student, presented "The Sociodemographic Landscape of Three Decades of FEMA Buyouts."

Hilda Onuoha, graduate student, and J.M. Shawn Hutchinson, professor, presented "Long-Term Grassland Trends across the Great Plains Ecoregion using BFAST and Moderate Resolution Satellite Imagery."

Michael Stumpff, graduate student, presented "Downslope Transport of Detached Limestone Blocks."
