Join the Friends of the K-State Libraries for the 2019-20 Hale Library Concert Series

The Hale Library Concert Series will present another year of fabulous music at various locations around town. All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. Season tickets are available now for $100 per person or $30 for students. They can be purchased by calling 785-775-2146.

The first concert on Friday, Oct. 18, will feature Donald Livingston on the harpsichord at the First United Congregational Church.

Livingston earned bachelor's degrees in applied music and philosophy and a master’s degree in music from Kansas State University. He is a lecturer in organ and harpsichord at the University of Texas Butler School of Music. A reception with refreshments will follow the concert. Tickets are $30 each or $10 per student and should be purchased by Oct. 9.

On Friday, Feb. 14, Slawomir Dobrzanski, piano, and the K-State Faculty Brass Quintet will perform at St. Isidore's Catholic Student Center. Members of the quintet include Paul Hunt, trombone; Jacqueline Fassler-Kerstetter, horn; John Kilgore, trumpet; Steve Maxwell, tuba; and Craig Parker, trumpet. A reception with refreshments will follow the concert. Tickets are $30 each or $10 per student.

On Friday, May 8, 2020, we commemorate the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II with a performance by Bryan Pinkall, tenor, and Amanda Arrington, piano, in All Faiths Chapel. They have performed this concert at the Sydney Opera House, the World War I Museum, the World War II Museum and the Eisenhower Center. Tickets are $20 each or $10 per student. High school students and younger can attend free of charge.

And finally, on Friday, June 5, 2020, get ready for an evening of jazz with the K-State Faculty Jazztet at the K-State Alumni Center. Performers include Michael Brown, bass; Kurt Gartner, percussion; Wayne Goins, guitar; Paul Hunt, trombone; Tod Kerstetter, clarinet; and Beau Jarvis, piano. Refreshments will be served during the concert. Tickets are $35 each or $10 per student.
