Hey undergrad researchers, apply for a Goldwater Scholarship nomination
Are you a sophomore or junior in engineering, mathematics, or the natural sciences? Participating in undergraduate research? If so, you may be an excellent candidate for the Goldwater Scholarship, which awards up to $7,500 per year toward college expenses.
Ideal Goldwater nominees plan to earn a doctorate and seek a career in engineering, mathematics, or the natural sciences; have maintained a 3.8 or higher GPA; and have undergraduate research experience.
Universities can nominate up to four students to compete nationally for the Goldwater Scholarship. Students nominated to represent K-State in the national competition will also receive a $1,000 scholarship from the university for spring 2020.
Campus applications are due on Oct. 21. To obtain a copy of the application, contact Jim Hohenbary, Goldwater faculty representative, at jimlth@k-state.edu.
For students wishing to learn more, several Goldwater information sessions will be offered in 215 Fairchild Hall:
- 4 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23.
- 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24.
