K-State band concert tonight
The K-State Concert Band and University Band will present a concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26, in the Mark A. Chapman Theatre in Nichols Hall. The concert is free to the public.
The K-State Concert Band will begin the concert, performing works by Erickson, Hanson and Ticheli. The Concert Band will be conducted by graduate students Allegra Fisher, Jay Koupal and Eddie Shaw.
The University Band will follow, performing works by Bryant, Buckley, Oare and other contemporary composers. The University Band is primarily made up of music education majors performing on secondary instruments and is conducted by junior and senior education majors. This experience provides them with opportunities that will better prepare them for student teaching.
