College of Business Administration and Academic Achievement Center need tutors

Submitted by Katie Pierce

The College of Business Administration and the Academic Achievement Center Tutoring Services are expanding tutoring services offered in the College of Business Building.

We are seeking peer tutors who can enhance student understanding of class material. Peer tutors support or supplement regular classroom instruction in a manner that adds to the students' education without directly providing answers or solutions. They assist with the understanding and application of class material and help students have a successful academic career at K-State.

Peer tutors are needed for the following courses: Math 100 — College Algebra; Econ 110 — Principles of Macroeconomics; Econ 120 — Principles of Microeconomics; Mangt 366 — Info Technology for Business, Excel spreadsheets; and Finan 450 — Principles of Finance.

Peer tutors are good student role models, are committed to the concept of academic success for all students, desire to teach others how to learn, are able to relate to a diverse group of people, have demonstrated success in courses, and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

To apply or view the peer tutor job description, please visit the Academic Achievement Center website. The deadline for applications is 5 p.m. Oct. 3. Applicants must be available to complete online training during the week of Oct. 8-12.
