Panhellenic Council at K-State presents 'Your Voice, Our Vision'
The Panhellenic Council at K-State will host an all-sorority rally at 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 9, in the K-State Student Union's Grand Ballroom. All sorority members, new and active, are welcome to participate in the open conversation between a keynote speaker, alumna, and other chapter members. The keynote speaker is KJ McNamara from "Phired Up," a national organization for advancing fraternity and sorority life.
The purpose of the event is to form a foundation and gain community knowledge/input for the future of sorority life. Using the outcomes of this event, a complete strategic plan will be formed and integrated into the community over the course of the next few years. Standing committees will be formed for the areas of social justice, diversity, and inclusion; personal and professional development; sorority experience; university and alumnae relations; and health and safety. These standing committees will be made up of two to three chapter representatives and a member of the Panhellenic Council. The standing committees will serve as a template for the strategic plan.
The Panhellenic Council is comprised of 13 Panhellenic sororities. The Panhellenic Council exists to develop and maintain sorority life and interfraternal relations. The organization promotes scholarship and leadership development while disseminates information important to sorority women to the chapters. The council is the coordinating body for Primary Panhellenic Recruitment. It is led by eight student leaders who make up the board of directors.
