Fall term syllabi statements

Submitted by Ruth Dyer

Dear deans, department heads, faculty and graduate teaching assistants:

As we begin preparations for the start of the 2018-2019 academic year, please be sure to review the information about course syllabi. Remember to include the mandatory statements in your fall course syllabi, and please consider including suggested optional statements, if they apply to your course. The website also includes a link to a syllabi template for online courses.

Please note we made revisions in the fall 2017 semester to the optional weapons policy statement, and a new version was endorsed by Faculty Senate at its Dec. 12 meeting. The new statement has been posted to the website and is highlighted. There have been no changes to any of the other syllabi statements from previous years.

To assist in your planning, please make sure your exam schedule is up-to-date by reviewing the fall 2018 exam schedule.

All faculty, instructors and graduate teaching assistants should refer to section F70-73 of the University Handbook to make sure they are in compliance with the final exam policy.

We ask you to pay close attention to the "prep week" rule that no examination — unit or final — may be scheduled seven calendar days prior to the first scheduled day of semester examinations.

Please contact our office at 785-532-6224 or rdyer@k-state.edu, if you have any questions.

We wish you a very successful and productive 2018-2019 academic year.

Best regards,

Ruth
