Burrack publishes in SAGE Encyclopedia of Educational Research, Measurement, and Evaluation

Submitted by Frederick Burrack

Sage Encyclopedia of Educational Research, Measurement, and Evaluation

Frederick Burrack, professor of music and director of the university's Office of Assessment, published three contributions in the SAGE Encyclopedia of Educational Research, Measurement, and Evaluation, edited by Bruce B. Frey.

These contributions are "Maturation," "Authentic Assessment" and "Grade Equivalent Scores." The four volume set covers important sociopolitical issues and trends influencing the future of that research and practice. Many publications focus on various aspects of educational research, measurement and evaluation, but prior to this set, there exists no major reference guide for students new to the field. This comprehensive work fills that gap, covering traditional areas while pointing the way to future developments.

Nearly 700 signed entries are contained spanning four volumes and available in electronic and/or print formats. Back matter includes a Chronology of the development of the field; a Resource Guide to classic books, journals, and associations; and a detailed Index. Entries conclude with Further Readings and cross-references to related entries. The Index, Reader's Guide themes, and cross-references combine to provide a robust search-and-browse in the electronic version.
