Several events part of Native American Heritage Month celebration today

Several events will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 9 in the K-State Student Union Ballroom as part of the Native American Heritage Month celebration, including free food from Coco Bolos. 

• 10 a.m. to noon: Rueben Kent will present pottery textiles and beadwork.

• 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lawrence Intertribal Dance Group. 

• 1-2 p.m. Presentations:

Noah Collins, Cherokee, bicultural anthropologist, Mr. Native American, University of Oklahoma, will present "Social Identity, Biological Identity and Enrollment in Native American Tribes."

Cordelia Falls Down, Crow Agency, indigenous rights activist, Miss Native American, University of Oklahoma, will present "Indigenous Rights and Accurate Representation of Native Peoples in Media and Literature."
