New: Curriculog curriculum development and management system

Submitted by Charlotte Pfaff

During the past year, a team of representatives from the Office of the Registrar, colleges, Faculty Senate, the Graduate School and the Office of the Provost have been working to implement an online curriculum development and management system.

Curriculog, the software selected, provides electronic proposal forms, workflow and other tools to make the work of developing and editing courses and curriculum more efficient.

Features include:

  • Electronic forms to initiate course and curriculum updates.
  • Import data directly from catalogs.
  • Impact reports.
  • Workflow to automatically route proposals through appropriate approval processes.
  • Enhanced collaboration and approval tracking.
  • Electronic interactive agendas.

Curriculog was released as a pilot implementation to the campus on Feb. 1 for course proposals, including new, changed, and discontinued courses.

The participating pilot colleges include Agriculture; Architecture, Planning & Design; Human Ecology; K-State Polytechnic Campus; and the Graduate School.

Course proposals for these colleges are currently moving through the approval process and reaching steps that involve the broader university community including the Graduate Council and Faculty Senate committees. You will also begin to see references to Curriculog in agendas as part of regular course and curriculum listserv notifications.

K-State faculty and staff are encouraged to log into Curriculog and view course proposals and agendas using their K-State eID and password.

To get started, please visit the Curriculog website and select the training link to view upcoming training sessions. You also may select the help link to view online help guides. Suggested help guides for beginners include "Getting Started," and under the proposals link, "Proposals Module: Overview" and "View a Proposal."
