Boeing global manager to present at Polytechnic Campus' Civic Luncheon Lecture Series

Submitted by Julee Cobb

Wendy Thibodeaux, manager of global trade controls for The Boeing Company, will be the fall semester's final Civic Luncheon Lecture Series presenter.

Kansas State Polytechnic will give the upcoming Civic Luncheon Lecture Series an international focus by highlighting the business of import and export control regulations as related to aviation.

Wendy Thibodeaux, a manager of global trade controls for The Boeing Company, will speak at the lecture series from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, with a presentation "Boeing and the Unmanned Frontier: Export/Import Control and High Performance Global Teams."

Kansas State Polytechnic's Civic Luncheon Lecture Series is free and open to the public. It will take place on campus in the College Center conference room and attendees are invited to bring their own lunch or purchase a lunch at the K-State Café and then bring their trays into the presentation.

Thibodeaux will spotlight export and import control regulations that often restrict international trade as well as the successful management of high-performance global teams. She also will use photos, videos and statistics to demonstrate Boeing's international footprint in the aviation, specifically unmanned aircraft systems, industry. Liticia Salter, a technical communication instructor for Kansas State Polytechnic, will moderate.

Thibodeaux has expertise in advising clients on international trade matters, from classification, sanctions and end-use controls to developing best practices for internal controls. She is experienced in managing global trade compliance, outsourcing contracts, conducting global trade process reviews and implementing trade-related systems.

Greg Stephens, an associate professor in technology management and business, established the Civic Luncheon Lecture Series to provide the campus and the community with an opportunity to learn about and participate in various current events affecting local issues.
