Registration is open for K-State faculty, staff and graduate students who are interested in serving as mentors for the 2015-2016 Guide to Personal Success, or GPS, program.

The Guide to Personal Success Program is one of K-State First's four program offerings and is available to all first-year students. This program pairs K-State professionals with first-year students for a one-on-one mentoring relationship.

Guides share their knowledge of resources and help students build their campus networks. The program asks that guides and mentees connect a minimum of three times per semester. Enjoying lunch in the residence halls, grabbing coffee at the library, and hiking Konza Prairie are just a few examples of how mentees and guides have connected in the past. In addition, the Guide to Personal Success program offers monthly Connect events for guides and mentees to attend. Last year these events included a K-State Theatre production, a night of snacks and holiday decorating at Varsity Donuts, a bowling night and an evening at a baseball game.

All new guides interested in registering for the program are asked to complete a brief informational survey. In this survey you will have the opportunity to tell the program coordinator about yourself so that an appropriate match can be made. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to indicate your personal matching preferences.

Registration for the 2015-2016 program is available online. Click here to take the survey.
