Recycling program announces spring schedule

The K-State recycling program has announced its pick-up schedule for the spring semester.

Mixed paper will be picked up Monday and Wednesday.

Newspaper will be picked up Tuesday and Thursday.

Magazines and phonebooks will be picked up each Friday.

Aluminum cans, plastic, beverage bottles and cardboard will be picked up daily, Monday-Friday.

Hard-bound books may also be recycled. Call 532-6446 for an appointment. Pick-up opportunities are available from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday-Friday.

Compost in tin cans will be recycled from the residence hall complexes and Jardine, from 1:30-3:00 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

Please help the recycling staff by ensuring only the five items listed above are placed in the proper blue recycle container: Plastic bottles, aluminum cans, mixed paper, newspaper and magazines.

Items that cannot be recycled include: foam pacing peanuts, adhesives, food wrappers, plastic bags, plastic and Styrofoam cups, tape, Styrofoam pacing material, carbon paper, unsorted recyclables or trash, cigarettes, food or garbage and binders or spiral bound notebooks.
