New K-State students invited to Wildcat Welcome Day on Aug. 28
New K-State students can kick off their college experience at Wildcat Welcome Day from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28, at the K-State Alumni Center, south of Memorial Stadium at the corner of 17th Street and Anderson Avenue.
The event will welcome freshmen and transfer students to K-State with prize giveaways — including a $250 textbook scholarship — and free Call Hall ice cream floats. Attendees also may get more information about getting involved with the Wildcats Forever student alumni association program, Student Alumni Board and Homecoming.
"We are excited to greet new students and help them learn more about K-State," said Amanda Brookover, the alumni association's assistant director of student programs. "Wildcat Welcome Day is a great way for students to become familiar with ways to get involved on campus, as well as a fun opportunity to meet new classmates."
